Press Release
MAN Diesel extends
maintenance capabilities
August 10th, 2007 - a newly established New
York
Service Center located in Brooklyn, New York, will
be extending the maintenance capabilities of
MAN Diesel PrimeServ North America
H.W. Ramberg Incorporated (HWR) will enhance MAN
Diesel’s technical expertise and support with its highly
skilled personnel and equipment. MAN Diesel thereby
extends its capabilities to provide timely and
professional after-sales service to all customers calling
on the east coast ports. HWR’s 80 years of service
experience in the maritime community, over 35 years
as an MAN Diesel Authorized Repair Shop for
reconditioning and exchange, will continue to provide
support to MAN Diesel’s customers.
HWR was incorporated on July 1st, 1925 with the
vision to effectively carry out maintenance aboard
ships in dock, minimizing the delays associated with
repair stops. During the company’s first decades, it
developed marine and diesel repair and the first
agreement with Burmeister & Wain Engineering
Company Limited A/S (B&W) was signed in May 1972.
The agreement was expanded upon the acquisition in
1979 of B&W by the MAN AG Group. HWR thus
became an Authorized Repair Shop for Augsburg,
Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark, which has
continued to present day.
